Carl Jung’s Archetypes explained for modern-day Social-Media users
Are you struggling to remember what the Jung archetypes are about? Use my following analogy to remember them for the rest of your life:
The Persona
It is the public face or role a person shows to others as opposed to the real self or inner thoughts and feelings. The persona is shaped by societal expectations and can be seen as a kind of compromise between the individual and society as to what one should appear to be.
Simply said:
Your content on social media.
The Ego
The ego represents the conscious mind and one’s sense of identity. It is responsible for our thoughts, memories, feelings, and sense of self that we’re aware of. The ego is the center of consciousness, but it is not the totality of one’s personality.
Simply said:
The person you think you are when you publish a post on Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, or elsewhere.
The Self
The Self represents the totality of the psyche, encompassing both the conscious and the unconscious mind. This includes the intentions, emotions, past experiences, hidden motivations, and all the internal processes and considerations.
