In the early 2010s, K-pop was a geeky pop niche known only to a few nerds outside of Korea. Then came Psy’s “Gangnam Style” which became the first video ever to reach more than one billion viewers on YouTube
Today, “Gangnam Style” is one of the best examples of virality.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, we cannot talk about this concept without mentioning Covid-19. This is also because the spreading of a virus and the spreading of content both work in similar ways.
But while we all want to stop the virality of a virus, content producers wish to boost the virality of their content. But in order to make something go viral, we first need to understand the concept of virality.
How is virality working?
During the pandemic, many people got familiar with the term “reproduction rate”.
If this rate is greater than 1, the average infected person infects more than one other person. This means that the virus will continue to spread.
But, if the reproductions number drops to less than 1, the average infected person will infect less than one person…
